For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son; That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. {17} For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. - HOLY BIBLE - SAINT JOHN 3:16-17
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. - ISAIAH 26:3 - HOLY BIBLE - English Standard Version
PRAISE JESUS CHRIST!
JESUS GREETINGS Family,
Perfect peace. What exactly is perfect peace? How do we come to the attaining of perfect peace? How do we know if we have perfect peace? These are a few questions we will touch on in today's blog post as we continue our four-part series on the Peace of CHRIST. First we must understand what peace is not.
Real peace is not maintaining a calm and relaxing disposition when all things appear to be going well in our lives. Let's face it, anyone can have real peace in these times of tranquility. However, I believe that real CHRIST-Centered peace, also known as "perfect peace", is shown when things are not going right in our lives, yet we still possess a strong unwavering confidence in the Truth that ALMIGHTY JEHOVAH GOD Will See us through.
If I were to look at my own life, I can see there have been many a time when I had to make the decision to stand on the WORD OF GOD, no matter what was happening externally in my life. I must honestly admit friends, sometimes, I've missed the mark. However, after repenting and ALMIGHTY JESUS Giving me HIS REST in the form of a peaceful night's sleep, or just a peace in my body while awake, I've gotten back on the proverbial "peace horse" and continued onward on my journey leading me unto Eternal Life. I believe we all have been here at least a few times in our Christian walk. But this behooves the question, "what exactly is perfect peace?"
I believe as we alluded to in the above stanza that 'perfect peace' is a peace that comes from ALMIGHTY JESUS CHRIST, HIMSELF, as a Gift to all of us who have placed our total trust in Him. It is a peace that "passeth all understanding {PHILIPPIANS 4:7}". There is a time where the world must see in us the believers in, and followers of our LORD AND GOD, JESUS CHRIST {SAINT JOHN 20:28}, a serene component within us even in the midst of trials and adverse situations. We must portray the patience, hope, faith, love, joy, and peace {GALATIANS 5:22} of our LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, in every circumstance. Of course in no way am I saying that this is easy. I, myself, know of the difficulty of maintaining peace in diverse situations. However, I'm learning that the more I speak in faith, and the power of my words, enables the peace that CHRIST JESUS HAS ALREADY so Lovingly Bestowed in and upon my person, to continue to present itself in every adversarial aspect that comes against the serenity and peace in my life. Now the question that presents itself, is how do we attain to garnering this 'perfect peace'?
This question is one of grave importance. Since the beginning of time, all mankind has attempted to acquire the peace that can ONLY come from ALMIGHTY JEHOVAH GOD, HIMSELF. People have sought (me included in my sinful past) peace in sinful activities, carousing, drunkenness, and other extremely detrimental mannerisms that have done nothing but make their lives more miserable and destructive than they would have been without these false components that the enemy of our souls, the devil {JAMES 4:7}, wants us to think that they are what we need to accomplish an attitude of peace in of our lives. However, we as Christians now know that nothing externally can bring us peace. This is simply because our peace is not just a noun, our Peace is a person; THE LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST!
You see, when we accepted the GREAT TRUTH, That JESUS, The SON of The LIVING GOD, DIED ON THE CROSS, AND ROSE, RESURRECTING THE THIRD DAY, ALL GOD AND ALL MAN {SAINT JOHN 19 AND 20}, we By The PRECIOUS HOLY GHOST Now Living within us, have received the PEACE OF CHRIST JESUS! Now it's up to us to tap into that Reservoir of peace, in order that when tragedy or anything from the enemy, or life itself presents itself unto us, we might not become disengaged from a heart of peace, but with our hearts and minds steadfast and unmovable {1 CORINTHIANS 15:58} from our stern belief and faith in CHRIST JESUS, we would triumphantly show forth a peaceful disposition that displays to the world, that we've "got the right One", our LORD AND GOD, JESUS CHRIST!
Lastly, "how do we know if we have perfect peace?" Well, first, our Foundational HOLY BIBLE SCRIPTURE Tells us today that, HE will keep us in perfect peace {ISAIAH 26:3}. Because, we know our 'perfect peace' comes from THE BLESSED HOLY SPIRIT Living within us {1 JOHN 2:27 - HOLY BIBLE - New Living Translation}, we need not worry or look externally for such peace. The only seemingly external thing we should be doing is externally picking up our HOLY BIBLE'S, digesting it's HOLY CONTENTS into our mindset, soul, heart, and being, thus, having within By Way of The HOLY GHOST, the Necessary Spiritual Warfare Weaponry in order that we might continually "fight the good fight of faith {1 TIMOTHY 6:12}", laying "hold on eternal life {1 TIMOTHY 6:12}", and with this laying hold on, we also lay hold on our grasping and never let go of the peace of God that passeth all understanding, guiding our hearts in Christ Jesus {PHILIPPIANS 4:7}. "Little children keep yourselves from idols. Amen {1 JOHN 5:21}."
